As of my final assignment being presented yesterday, I declare winter holidays have officially begun. With Christmas fast approaching, and you likely panicking because you haven't done your present shopping yet, I thought I'd make it easy and find you a few of my favourite Christmas kicks that you can still get your hands on. Whether you choose to take advantage of these as a gift for someone else or for yourself is totally up to you, but these are my top faves to find under the tree on Christmas morning from non-whack Santa (check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjDiSv-OyC0 for that reference)
1. Reebok x Garbstore Instapump Fury Road and Reebok x Mita x Winiche Instapump Fury OG (Livestock)
I talked at length in my very first sneaker review last summer about how much I loved my Instapump Fury CLSHX for the unique silhouette and incredible comfort, so I wouldn't hesitate for a second about grabbing a second pair in any of the other variations. It just so happens that Livestock has two of the newest awesome collabs of this shoe, which both coincidentally come in a seasonally appropriate green.
2. Jordan IV Cement, Jordan VI Maroon, and Jordan I Chicago (Lexington Ave CS)
Prices and sizes vary, http://lexington.berti.webfactional.com/#/tab/size/9-5
Right now, the top YYC Air Jordans guy at Lexington Ave has some of the most solid stock to date, including a few of my favourite Jordans ever in a variety of common sizes (these are all size 9.5). Once again, you don't get a much more seasonally-appropriate excuse to wear red Chicago ones or Maroon sixes. And the Cement 4s? Well, you don't ever need an excuse to wear those. Check out Lex's site above or go down to the store to see their fantastic selection of retro Jordans.
3. Adidas Tubular Doom Primeknit in Nude Brown
Amongst their latest Yeezy Boost raffle and Jordan Bred I madness, Calgary sneakerheads might have forgot that Less 17 also regularly curates a pretty solid collection of tasteful sneakers to go with all styles of streetwear. I've been loving the Tubular Doom since it came out last winter, but this colourway is almost certainly the GOAT thus far, and the knit sock with the neutral colourway is about as close as you can get to a winter-ready Tubular. It dropped recently at their store down on 17th ave and they still have about every size available, so you guys don't have to race me down there to grab a pair.
