Fall is probably my favourite season of the year, sartorially speaking. In most of Canada, fall is that happy middle ground between the necessity of cool, sweat-wicking looks in summer and toasty layered looks for winter. In our fall, you can throw on a sweater without inducing heat stroke, but don't have to layer a jacket overtop to avoid frostbite. What to wear in this transitional period thrn, with so much possibility?
With so many opting for more complex looks during this season, there may never be a more perfect time to stand out with an understated and bold look. And when you're in the department of simple mild weather looks, there may be no better piece of clothing in your inventory than a statement crewneck sweater, like this piece here from 6Streets. At a time where every man has a wide assortment of patterned button down shirts and neutral chinos, and when almost every menswear company has their own iteration of the statement crewneck, it couldn't be easier to put together this look.
Rock an air-tie (do up your top shirt button), put on some of your best jeans, wear some of your favourite casual derby or oxford shoes (or some of your best sneakers), layer a blazer overtop, put on a ballcap. It's all possible and give you so much room to pull off a simple, yet effective look. Pull a crewneck over any of your button downs and head out to the country in a look that is pretty much, well, limitless.
