Truly, one of the biggest cruxes of keeping up with men's fashion today is controlling the urge to update your closet for each new season. It's an understandable problem; with each new season comes desirable new styles, colour palettes, and materials, many of which you'll undoubtedly want to get your hands on. You know my mantra is to try new things and travel outside your sartorial comfort zone, but as I've showed you before, more than often that means experimenting with pieces you already have instead of buying new things. Over the next few days, Mr Travis Presbitero is going to demo three elevated business casual fall outfits using classic wardrobe pieces you likely already own. First up: the everyday grey blazer.
Everybody eventually finds that well-fitted off-the-rack blazer that they can dress up or down. Chances are, you have already found yours and it is either grey or navy blue. If you're still looking for a basic and affordable option of this, consider checking out The Gap, Zara, H&M, or The Bay. This particular piece on Travis is a tweed blazer from H&M. Besides that, putting together the rest of a dapper fall fit can be done with a very standard wardrobe arsenal. Start with your basic white shirt/solid colour tie combo, throw on the jacket, slip on some dark dress trousers, tie on some basic black or brown dress shoes, and you have a respectable fall outfit for work or play.
But, as Travis demonstrates, you can also go the extra distance and indulge in a couple extra special items to elevate your outfit and really stand out. Here, those items are the luxurious thick scarf from Harry Rosen and the waxed rich blue denim from Zara. The fairly neutral shades of the white shirt/solid colour tie/dark jacket combo opens the possibilities for almost any pattern of scarf and off-colour of pants, which are two of the cheapest items to upgrade. So if you're tight on budget and looking to elevate your fall look, little changes like this can go a long way in your standard arsenal.
