For day two of my Effortless Fall Looks series with Travis Presbitero, we trade in the grey suit jacket and scarf of yesterday for a classic tan overcoat and v-neck sweater. The tie has also been switched from navy blue to a charcoal grey. Just by changing a couple fall-weather outerwear staples, Travis creates the same level of business-casual look with a totally different tone and colour-complexity.
The one major thing to notice here is how that choice of neutral torso pieces (and the brown of the coat) makes the blue of the waxed denim stand out that much more. That's just one of the many reasons that brown overcoats are a seemingly immortal menswear tool: they make any blues practically burst. In unison with the brown dress shoes, the non-distracting neutrals of the shirt, tie, and sweater let this relationship flourish.
