As you all know, I recently got to collaborate with Jord Wood Watches on our latest product review, but I've been extremely excited to finally show you guys the watch itself! At long last, what follows is my unboxing of the "Frankie" watch in koa and ash for your viewing pleasure.
Also, my full review will be launching soon, but while you wait you can earn yourself $20 towards a watch just by entering our contest. And if you win the contest, that $20 turns into $75, which I'm pretty excited about. Head over to https://www.woodwatches.com/g/styleouthere to enter.
Unboxing is probably one of my favourite things to do, but it's not too often that the box itself looks so good that I want to keep it closed a little longer. I applaud Jord for not only creating such a great piece of craftsmanship, but also for the amount of waste material this reduces in the packaging. I've unboxed watches worth hundreds of dollars more that didn't come in a box that I would so readily use again after taking the watch out.
As for the watch itself, the visual impact of the box is certainly an appropriate precursor to its own aesthetic. Online photos really don't do justice to how satisfying it looked and felt in person. Regardless, I did my best to capture it in what I felt was its natural habitat, being the palette of fall leaves and rough lumber. Check out the rest of the photos below and check back in a few weeks for the full review!
