To send out what many would subjectively call a fairly poor year on a high note, I've decided to merge two of my favourite things into a two-part visual feature as my way of rewarding you for surviving 2016. I was just discussing with a friend the other day about how great vintage style is as a really underappreciated and underutilized part of streetwear and menswear culture that is able to do so much. As it is my self-appointed position to expose underappreciated stylistic tropes, people, and places, here is my own ode to vintage wear in what I think might be one of the most underrated spots on Calgary: Chinatown.
Speaking of underappreciated, the subject I came across for these photos just so happened to put together his own incredible wardrobe, throw down some killer modeling, and even did some unreal edits and retouching on the photos. As one of the top three people I've had the pleasure of working with, I would say to definitely go give James a follow. But in the meantime, close our your 2016 with part one of our collab photo series to get some inspiration for your own unique outfits and spot-hunting in 2017.
