For the first time in YYC in about 3 weeks, I looked at my weather app this morning and saw that it wouldn't be raining every day this upcoming week. It made me both happy and panicked; happy because I was looking forward to wearing tees and shorts again, but panicked because I hadn't had the free time these past weeks to shoot any good rain shots and it looked like today could be the last chance I'd get for the rest of the summer or even the rest of the year.
Just like it took me today to seriously realize that I might need a waterproof camera cover in Calgary, many of you may have taken just as long to realize that you might need real rain gear in Calgary. Luke at @theexperienceproject was in the same boat today (more literally than you may think). Despite having a decent set of rain jackets, his top two shoe possibilities today were not exactly waterproof: flyknit NMD's and the Chuck Taylor IIs that he decided on.
With neither of us totally prepared for the weather, Luke and I decided to celebrate this past day of uncharacteristic torrential rain regardless. Enjoy our goodbye tribute to (hopefully, but also hopefully not) the past few weeks of beautiful precipitation.
