Event Recap: Canadian International Fashion Film Festival

Last weekend (July 22-23), I had the great opportunity to attend the first ever CANIFF event at the Glenbow museum. Throughout Friday and Saturday, a one-of-a-kind audience of exclusively fashion-passionate people from throughout Canada and the world viewed some of the best fashion films from around Canada and the world, while also getting a chance to participate in open forum discussions with the filmmakers themselves. Not to mention that the after parties at Hotel Le Germain (Friday), and Theatre Junction Grand (Saturday) involved some of the best food and (strongest) free cocktails in recent memory

While I could go on all day about what a pleasure it was to experience the people, event format, and after parties, I think the best way to do this event justice is to show you some of my favourite films. Check back here over the next few days for links to my own personal favourite films, and stop in Friday to see the full selection of winners from this unique and fun event.

For day 1, I present to you "THE KING AND THE CROWN" by Lobo Films, starring Marco de Ornella, my top pick from the "emerging fashion film nomination" segment. Enjoy!
