For day 3 of my Canadian International Fashion Film Festival, I've picked one of my favourites out of from the event's "best actor or model in a fashion film" category. if you haven't been following along with my programming this week, or wanna read my original event recap, check out my previous blog post here.
Today, my favourite film comes from director Heiko Aufdermauer of the Silentfilm production company, starring Mai Suzuki and Yusuke Yamasaki. Once again, a great narrative and incredible aesthetic frame this work, which pans out as a moody and dramatic story that truly gives equal focus to both the fashion, filmmaking, and acting. Some of my favourite fashion films from the show were ones that didn't extremely overtly showcase the clothes, but rather set up a compelling story and production and let the exceptional styling stand out on its own accord. This definitely rings true in my pick today, titled "Le Fruit Noir." Watch it below and make sure to check out more work from these guys on Vimeo and their website.
